In July 2020, the United States Food and Drug Administration (U.S. FDA) announced its "New Era of Smarter Food Safety Blueprint" centred around four core elements – tech-enabled traceability; smarter tools and approaches for prevention and outbreak response; new business models and retail modernisation; and food safety culture.
